Hello! We are students from The Education University of Hong Kong Jockey Club Primary School, and we are so proud to accept the championship of the Universal Robotic Challenge 2026 in Osaka!
Preparing for this competition took months of hard work after school and on weekends. Building our robot was full of failures. Many times it fell or did not work. We felt disappointed, but we always said, “Let’s try again!” Each failure taught us something new.
During the matches, teamwork was everything. We trusted one another, stayed calm, and solved problems together. That is how we won.
Thank you to our parents for your endless encouragement, to our teachers for your patient guidance, and to our principal for giving us this wonderful chance.
With hard work, courage and teamwork, we brought this championship home to Hong Kong!
Thank you!

Hello everyone! We are team Iced Sweet Potatoes from Taiwan, and we are so happy and proud to win 3rd place today!
Building and coding our robot was definitely a big challenge. Our sensors didn't work at first, pieces came loose, and our code had so many bugs. Many times our robot just stopped moving on the field! But just like our name, sweet potatoes, we stayed tough and worked hard together. We fixed our mistakes, tested our runs again and again, and never stopped trying.
We want to say a huge thank you to the judges for this awesome award. Thank you so much to our coaches and teachers for guiding us, and to our parents for always cheering us on. Seeing all the cool robots from teams around the world has been amazing, and we learned so many great things. We love robotics, and we can’t wait to build even better robots next time. Thank you very much!

We are KYC AI Apex J2 from Kau Yan College in Hong Kong. Thank you for awarding our team first place in the Advance division of the URC 2026 robot competition.
Our robot had to carry relief supplies to shelters by itself. In three minutes it had to find the pieces, grip them, and place them where they scored the most, including the harder spots. We rebuilt the mechanism, rewrote the program, and tested the sensors and reset points until the run was steady. What we learned in coding and engineering class became choices we had to make on the field.
This prize belongs to every teammate who stayed for another test. Thank you to our teachers, our families, and everyone at URC.

As their mentor, I am incredibly proud—not only of this achievement, but of the journey behind it. These students have shown that winning is not simply about getting the right answer; it is about having the courage to experiment, the patience to learn from failure, and the determination to keep moving forward when things do not go as planned.
Throughout this journey, they faced challenges that tested both their technical skills and their resilience. Yet, they continued to learn, adapt, collaborate, and believe in one another.
This achievement belongs first and foremost to the students. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to their teachers, parents, organisers, supporters, and everyone who believed in them and made this journey possible.
For us, this recognition is not the destination. It is a reminder that education becomes truly meaningful when young people are given opportunities to create, solve problems, and learn beyond the classroom.
May this experience inspire the students to dream bigger, stay humble, and continue using technology to create meaningful impact.

I won an Honorable Mention in this contest.
I am very happy and proud. I think I learned and grew a lot by joining this contest.
Winning a prize is important, but I think trying hard is even more important.
I worked hard, and I am happy that my hard work gave me a good result.
At first, I joined the contest just to try something new.
I thought, “It is okay if I do not win.” So I was very surprised when I got the award. While I was getting ready for the contest, my robot fell down and broke.
I was very sad and worried. But my teacher helped me fix it. I am very thankful to my teacher.
Through this contest, I learned many things. Next time, I want to try doing more things by myself.
I will keep learning, trying, and doing my best. Thank you.

First of all, I’m grateful to have the opportunity to enter this competition, and for URC that provided a platform for me to show and demonstrate my creation. Without my mom and all the teachers supporting me, I couldn’t have succeeded. As people always say, the process is more important than the result. While making this project, I’ve learned to solve the challenges that is brought to me. I’ve also been blessed enough to gain experience, the most valuable thing. From this competition, I’ve learned one thing about myself: I love challenging myself!

We are very happy and honoured to be selected as one of the winning teams in the Universal Robotics Challenge 2026.
Our journey started when we noticed how hard courier workers work, especially when lifting and carrying heavy parcels. This inspired us to create the Robo-Postur Guard, a robot that reminds workers to maintain a safer posture when lifting.
Through this project, we learned about robotics, coding and sensors. We also learned that building a robot requires patience, teamwork and problem-solving. Sometimes our robot did not work as expected, so we tested, changed our code and tried again.
We would like to thank our teachers at SK Bandar Tangkak, parents, friends, Tech Up and ARTEC for supporting us.
Thank you!

We are the KYC AI Apex J2 team from Kau Yan College in Hong Kong. Thank you for awarding our invention, the Wheelchair-Link Super-Cart, third place in the URC 2026 invention contest.
We built this robot to tackle Hong Kong's labor shortage of about 180,000 workers and the high unemployment faced by people with disabilities. In retail and logistics, heavy lifting causes many injuries and keeps wheelchair users out of stocking work. The Super-Cart changes that. It has a strong two-wheel chassis and motorized grabbers that lift goods over floor bumps and shelf edges, so the worker does not have to strain their back or lean out of a wheelchair. A person still guides navigation and stock organization, at the workplace or from home. The robot cannot function without a human, so it creates a chance of employment instead of replacing jobs. In this way, we hope to support decent work and a safer, more inclusive workplace.
This prize encourages us to keep bridging human ability and robotic strength. Thank you to our teachers, our families, and everyone who supported us at URC.
